Just a reminder…
Please RSVP for the summer party by Friday, June 11 if you have not already done so. Thanks everyone so has emailed me so far!
The summer party will be held at Tracy’s house in Keswick on Saturday, June 19 at 2:00 p.m. We have emailed her address to everyone, she lives at the end of a cul-de-sac so you can park in the open area in the middle.
It will be a traditional potluck so feel free to bring whatever you want and we’ll see what we get! Maybe I’ll make cupcakes :). Also, it is Bring Your Own Drinks and lawn chairs (although if you are stuck for a chair, Tracy does seem to have quite a few). Tracy’s yard still has the pool up but the trampoline has been taken down; she also has some interesting lawn games. Children are welcome to come but we won’t be having as big a focus on children this year as we did last year (just so you know up front).

AGM Posted
As promised the draft minutes from the AGM held last Friday April 16th have been posted on the Executive page. These will be draft minutes until the 2011 AGM. I have also posted the AGM Report that was available in hard copy at the meeting on that page. The photos taken at the dinner are now posted on the Photos page.
You may notice that the minutes from the February meeting have not yet been posted. These must be approved by the Executive at their next meeting before they are official and can be posted.
Another Year is Officially Over.
Thank you to everyone who attended the AGM last Friday night. It was a fun evening with great company and good food. The list of Executive members has been updated; Congratulations to Andrea and Kathy on their new positions.
The AGM report and draft minutes as well as photos will be available on the site soon.
A personal thank you to the league members for the card and kind notes upon my departure from the Executive.

As well, if you have not yet handed in your league jersey, please bring it with you to the AGM and we’ll give you back your deposit cheque. If you are not attending the AGM, we will have to make arrangements for you to drop off your jersey to someone.
Please RSVP whether you will be attending or not by Tuesday, April 7 (even if you did once already – all my emails are gone!)! You are welcome to bring your chequebooks with you are there will be an opportunity to pre-register for next season. We had a good turn-out last year so we are hoping fo rmore of the same this year.
For anyone who is interested in positions that are available on the Executive this year please view our “Call of Interest” to see the positions available and the related position descriptions. There are several positions up for grabs and Jennifer Ashbee has been kind enough to volunteer to be the Nomination Chair this year so if you have any questions after reading the attachment you can direct them to her. Please express interest to her by Tuesday, April 7.

Congratulations!
Thank you all who participated in our first Oscar contest. It was exciting watching the results unfold. We had 28 entries. The winner with 16 correct was Ross McDonnell. Enjoy your movie card. We’ll have it ready at the AGM!

Oscar Ballots
Hi ladies.
Just a quick reminder that there is ice this Friday night but none on March 12 (before March break). There is ice on Friday, March 19 and I’ll think of you all at the rink while on the beach in Cuba. Our last ice for the year is on Friday, March 26!
Andrea will be around to collect any Oscar Ballot entry money. The Oscars are this weekend so if you are planning on selling any, you must be done by Friday! I have attached the information for you again. Good luck to all you movie buffs…
The AGM is scheduled for Friday, April 16. More information will be coming shortly. We will have the same idea as last year – food, slideshow, a few awards, lots of socializing, and reports from the Executive. Dinner will probably be somewhere around $15. If you know you are planning on coming, please RSVP ASAP to let me know so we can order the food but as I said, more details will follow shortly.

No Ice Friday
Hi ladies. Just a quick reminder that there is no ice this Friday night so we will see you all on February 26!
Oh yeah, don’t forget about the Oscars fundraiser we are doing. You can bring money and ballots to Andrea on Friday, February 26 or Friday, March 5. March 5 is the last date for entries. I’m happy to say the teachers at my school thought it was a great idea!
Have a great week.
Her Majesty, Queen Anne.
It’s Oscar time at MWRA!
As we start thinking about our MWRA Awards and the AGM (which is scheduled for Friday, April 16 so keep your calendars open!), we thought it would be fun to offer people the chance to join an Oscar pool. This is open to league participants and anyone you know who might be interested (it would be fun to do as a staff or something as it will be “water cooler” talk afterwards for sure).
Here are the specifics:
- It is $2.00 for each completed ballot.
- You can enter as many times as you want. As I just said above, each ballot is $2.00.
- It’s easy. The most correct ballots win.
- If there is a tie, a ramdon draw from the tied ballots will be made.
Entry deadline is Friday, March 5 at 9:00 p.m. Ballots and money can be given to Andrea at the rink! This is a great way to support the league for all you movie buffs out there. Oh yeah, the winner will get a movie theatre gift card for $10! Happy picking and good luck!

Exhibition Game
Don’t forget about the exhibition game on Friday night. Etobicoke is coming to Mount Joy to play. The Cougars will be away, along with most of the Executive but Mary will be there running the show. Go Mary!!! I think there are also a few other people who will be away so if you can go, please do so Etobicoke and Markham have a good game. Just the regular time – 9:00-11:00 p.m.
Her Majesty, Queen Anne.
