Looks like our earlier optimism did nothing to change the weather. Several people have written in to say they can’t make it, so we’re going to have to cancel the games due to inclement weather.
Sorry to miss seeing everyone one more time to wish you a happy holiday, and I’m very sad to miss Sharilyn’s chocolate chip cookies, so perhaps everyone can bring their treats on our next game night – January 9th!

Good Afternoon Everyone!
Just an update about the weather in case you were concerned about tonight. According to the
weather network the snow should slow down around 4pm and stop by about 7pm – just in time to come to Ringette! So, we anticipate playing tonight and hope to see you all there.

December 19th will be a special holiday celebration for MWRA!
We would like to invite ALL of our players join us to play for two full hours! This includes anyone who wasn’t planning to skate until January 2009 and those of you who only normally play for the first hour of ice time.
We encourage everyone to bring holiday treats to share between games and we’d love to have a big crowd at Shoeless Joe’s afterwards. The restaurant is just north of 16th on Hwy #48.
Invite your friends and family out to watch and join us for snacks and at the restaurant too.
We always welcome new skaters that might want to try it for a night, so invite anyone that might want come out to see what the MWRA is like!

ATTENTION all Hockey Pool Participants!!
Would you like to make a change to your line-up? Do you have a goalie or a skater on your roster that might not be playing right now? Perhaps you have friends or family members ahead of you in the standings that you’d like a better chance of catching…
For only $3.00 you can trade any one player for another one in the same group on the entry form. You can trade any 2 players for $5.00.
Trades will be effective immediately from the time they are received. All points earned to date will remain the same, but you will start accumulating points for the new players as soon as the trade is completed.

Can’t remember which players were in which groups? I’ve attached the original entry form so you can check that too.
To make a trade send an email to
jmdeschenes@gmail.com with the name(s) of the player(s) you would like to remove from your team and the name(s) of the player(s) you would like to add. We’ll send confirmation as soon as the trade is received and completed. Pay the $3 or $5 to whomever you joined the pool with.
The trade deadline is January 4th, 2009. All trades must be received by 11:59pm on the deadline.

Wanted to let everyone know that there is a Ringette tournament being held in Vegas in April 2009. Check out www.ringettedestination.com for more information. MWRA will be looking to put forward a team for 2010 so if you’re interested start saving your pennies!
